About me

Meredith Ellen McFadden

I was born in Seattle, Washington, September 19th, 1976. I was born into an Air Force family, so we moved alot.

I've lived in Missouri, California, Germany, Texas, and now I reside in Kansas City, Missouri. I have a cat, 15-year-old Smudge, and a dog, 13-year-old Allie.

Those two cute little babies are me and my twin sister Emily. According to our mother, I'm on the left. And in case you're wondering: I'm the older, by 45 minutes (Emily needed a little help getting out!)

The Model Horse Hobby

I've had toy horses all my life. My earliest were two rubber horses. "Mama Horse" and "Baby Horse", whom I shared with my sister. Then, on Christmas of 1986, my sister got me the Breyer Action Stock Horse Foal in bay tobiano pinto, whom I named "Pint". A few years later I read an article in Horse Illustrated about the model horse hobby, and I've been hooked ever since!

I live showed for a long time while living in Texas. But after moving to Missouri, I simply haven't had the time! Then recently I got more involved in online photo showing. It's alot of fun, plus there's no hassle of packing or unpackng, driving long distances, and the like! All cons aside, though, I'd love to live show again....

A few years ago I started into customizing. My favorite medium is pastels, although I use acrylic paints for pinto/appy markings, and detailing. And while I photo show my work, and it does well, I haven't had the opportunity to live show my customs (in person). However people I have sold my customs to report that they do great, to my delight!

Other Interests

I am a trained dog groomer, plus I am a former Graphic Arts student(would like to get into that again someday). I also LOVE Astronomy, one of my favorite classes in college. To my extreme disappointment, however, there was only one course level offered (no Astronomy 2! WAAAAHH).

I also love music, especially Soft Rock, Country, Contemporary Christian, and some New Age
